Hello Mine Mill Leadership & Members of Local 598,
THIS IS AN URGENT REQUEST FROM JERRY DIAS – UNIFOR
NATIONAL PRESIDENT
Unifor 594 needs your urgent support! On day 58 of
this lockout, Unifor members from across the country are on site in Regina
to support the locked-out workers at Co-op Refinery – but we need help.
Co-op Refinery has shown that they have
no intention of bargaining in good faith and continue to demand major
pension concessions, despite the fact that the employer generates in
excess of 3 million dollars per day in profit.
We urgently request
that all available members and supporters travel to Regina.
All regularly scheduled lost time, per diem, and
travel costs shall be furnished to members from the local union and the
local union will be reimbursed, in full, by Unifor National.
If you are available to join our sisters
and brothers on the picket line – please contact me as soon as possible 705-673-3661 (I
am at the Union Office today [Sunday]
until 7:00p.m.) -
Flight arrangements and hotel accommodations are currently being made and
plans are being made to send members out as early as tomorrow (Monday)
morning.
