The
Eagle Mine is a small, high-grade nickel mining and copper mining
project owned by Talon Metals. The mine is located on the Yellow Dog
Plains in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the United States. Eagle is
the only primary nickel mine in the United States.
The Mine: Located on the Yellow
Dog Plains in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (west of Marquette).
The Mill (Humboldt Mill):
Located at 4547 County Road 601 in Champion, Michigan, where the
extracted ore is crushed and processed into a copper and nickel
concentrate.
The Smelter/Refinery: The concentrate is
loaded onto rail cars at the mill and shipped to processing facilities
in Sudbury, Ontario.
